Rural Women’s Empowerment through their Improved Vocational Skills Development and Enhanced Access to Enterprises Opportunities in Taluka Sewhan District Jamshoro

Hamdam Foundation has signed an agreement with Community Development Program CDP, Planning & Development (P&D) Government of Sindh to undertake skill development project titled ‘Rural Women’s Empowerment  through  their  Improved  Vocational  Skills  Development  and  Enhanced  Access  to Enterprises  Opportunities’  in  Taluka  Sehwan,  District  Jamshoro.  The project was got started immediately  after  the  signing  of  agreement.  A full day staff Orientation  workshop  was organized  to familiarize team members with  deliverables, processes and approaches. A project orientation was also arranged with Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro for NOC and further coordination. 
The project team started field activities by introductory meeting with local  communities, social activists and  community  representatives  of  Bhan  Saeed  Abad,  Talti  &  Bhanbha  of  Taluka  Sehwan.The social mobilization process started in targeted area for project introduction and involving communities and local representative in project process. There are 20 project introductory meetings are conducted during the reporting period. A gender-focused approach has been adopted to ensure maximum participation of women and men at community organization level.   
 One skill development center is established in Bhan Saeed Abad. The community representatives taken an active part in identification of trainees and there 200  women  trainees  were  identified  while  150  trainees  are  selected  after  verification  and  press  skill assessment test. Press Skill Assessment test was conducted along-with technical assistance of Mashal Skill Development Center MSDC Hyderabad.
